When you’re doing research, how do you keep track of your notes? Where do you capture new ideas? There are dozens of ways to keep track of everything, but there are three key to successful note taking:
The point of keeping notes is to be able to reference them in the future. Whether you’re brainstorming for a new product feature or researching a potential new customer, being able to find your notes when you need them is a key to successful note taking. We take the guesswork out of being organized with your Productivity Fox notes with organizational structures that make sense.
Groups are the top-level organization for notes in Productivity Fox. Groups are ways to organize notepads. You can have as many notebooks as you need.
Notepads are the secondary organization for your Productivity Fox notes. You can have as many notepads in your group as you need. Within notepads, you can color-code your notes.
Notes are the meat of your notes. Each note can only be in one notepad, and can only be one color.
If you think of your Productivity Fox notes as your high school three ring binder for World History, it would look something like this:
American History Binder = Group
World War 1 Section = Notepad
D-Day = Note
We saved our note in blue, as it’s related to an event, rather than red for people or yellow for statistics.
Accessible notes can be thought of in one of two ways – available where you need them, and accessible via navigation.
Productivity Fox is native to Salesforce App Force, so all of your notes are stored securely in the cloud. You can access them from virtually anywhere that you have an internet connection. You don’t have to worry about if you grabbed the right notepad from your desk, or if your notes are stored on your desktop computer when you’re travelling with your laptop.
We also make Productivity Fox highly accessible with our quick-search functionality. You can search across all your most recent notes for a specific keyword, or within a specific group or even notebook. If you’re a master note-taker, or just can’t remember where you filed something, searching within Productivity Fox notes makes it easy to access your notes just when you need them.
Some applications come with hundreds of bells and whistles. What font do you want to type your notes in today? What color should it be? Would you like to add a sticker, or a bullet? What shape bullet – arrow, circle, square?
We wanted taking notes to be as easy as grabbing a pen and a sticky note. We didn’t add fancy formatting, so that you can focus on the content of the note – not what shade of blue it should be.
You can also add a note from any page in Productivity Fox from the upper-right hand corner. No need to open another application or leave the page you’re already on.
Adding a link to an image or video? They’ll display automatically in the note.
Of course, no one methodology is right for everyone. That’s why Productivity Fox notepads are inherently flexible. You may want to organize your notes by customer, while your coworker organizes them by status. There’s no real right or wrong way – the key is just to have your notes, when and where you need them.
